Creating your wedding album, much like planning the actual day, is not the easiest task in the world. There are, however, certain things you can keep in mind that will help you assemble a beautiful, memorable photo album that will capture your favourite moments to showcase your special day.
Let’s take a look at the three most important things to take into consideration:
The perfect selection
How do you go about choosing which photos to use and which to leave out? It can take a lot of time to figure out the best way to go about this but let me save you the headache: pick photos that you like instead of pictures you think will appeal to others. It is your day, your memories and your album should reflect that which is special to you and your significant other. Sure, it is important that the photos you pick are at least half decent but if you made use of a good photographer, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Layout
You can go about this any way you like but my advice, and you will notice that I practice this myself, is to keep the story in mind. From start to finish, try placing your selected photos in chronological order. Not only does this contribute to flow and continuity, it also makes the album interesting and makes for easier recollection of the day in its entirety.
Avoid Clutter
While it is perfectly okay to decorate and accessorise your wedding album, it is important that you do not overdo it. Too much frills can quickly create a clutter and this can steal from the beauty of your photographs. Keep it simple! Add your personal touch, by all means, but make sure to keep the photos the focal point.
So there you have it, keep these three things in mind and you should glide through compiling your wedding album. Of course, there is always the option of letting your photographer take to the task if you don’t feel up to it yourself.
