The Pink lady turns 60!
A party with a difference ….but what more could we expect from this Pink lady. I got to know Sunette or as most people know her, Petal, through my husband as she is also a member of his Harley Davidson club, Two Oceans Group or most commonly known as TOG. This fun grandmother is not your normal grandmother …she is the funkiest, fun granny you could possibly imagine having. She rides her own Harley Davidson with utmost confidence. We fondly know her as the Pink lady as she dyes her hair pink, paints her nails pink etc etc. She is definitely a colourful character …and her 60th birthday party proved that without any measure of a doubt. She decided that she wanted a theme/fancy dress party.
A Hip and Happening Flower Power Party!!
Everyone made such a great effort to dress for this occasion. In fact some people did so well, that I didnt even recognise some of them until wigs came off later. What was extra special was that Sunette had all her grandchildren at the party (except the baby) and the children had an absolute ball. They too were dressed up as flower children and they danced with their “oumie” all night long! This party will definitely be one to remember. Everyone had such an enjoyable evening ..but ..none of us ever doubted that we would when the Pink lady is the birthday girl!
What was more obvious than the fact than that Sunette is a colourful character is the fact she is a loving wife, a caring mother and mother-in-law, an obsessed grandmother as well as being a warm and loving person to the rest of her family. Brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews were all there from wherever to help her celebrate this momentous occasion …and lets not forget how wonderful, fun and funky a good friend she is too!
A special mention should be made to Vinette, Sunettes daughter, whose company, Secret Diaries supplied the stationery and some of the decor. Another big thank you to Sonja Bekker for supplying and helping with the decor …andlast but no least a big mention to Sunettes friend, Marie Fourie for making the gorgeous birthday cake!
