I have known these beautiful lovebirds for a couple of years! I first met them both when Christine’s mom asked me to take some photos of Christine for her 21st birthday and when I got to the location, her then boyfriend, Chris had tagged along to come watch as he too was interested in photography! I could immediately see the sparks between the two and the very easy way they had of interacting with each other! But then, as I was later told …these two had been in pre-primary together but it was only later when the sparks flew …strangely enough the two discovered that both families had holiday houses in the same vicinity! And so these two lovebirds spent many holidays together being totally absorbed in one another! Although according to Christine, it did take Chris three years to ask her out as he was very shy! But I think one thing is very certain ….Christine always seemed to know that Chris was the man for her! Her mom told me that during those holidays on the beach, Christine came home one evening from her meet up with Chris and told her that she was going to marry Chris but he just had to grow up first!!
After meeting Chris at the shoot I did for Christine, I discovered that he is a genius with computers and so he became my very own “go-to-computer-guy” so when he asked if he could come and see me one day, I assumed that it was going to be a technical meeting regarding my computer! But you could have knocked me over with a feather when they told me they were getting married in six weeks time and they wanted me to be their wedding photographer! Luckily they decdided to get married on a weekday so even though the season was very busy I was able to say a resounding “Yes” ! And it meant that I would be back at the beautiful, rustic Beloftebos within three days!
There were so many reasons to celebrate that beautiful day! Firstly, it was beautiful to see two lovely families work together on making this a very special wedding! Secondly, it was also Christine’s 23rd birthday! And thirdly, her new Sister-in-law ..although I think I really should say her new sister , Julia, the most amazing creative girl, turned 21 as well! Julia, did the brides hair and make-up, plus all the bridesmaids too ….she made the crown of flowers …she did the artwork for the menu’s and chocolates …she worked tirelessly and considering it was her very special birthday, not once did it become about her ….in fact I think it was the best birthday present for Julia to put her considerable talents to use with this beautiful wedding! Chris’s, mom, Louise made Christines’ beautiful dress which I think suited her to perfection …it was utterly gorgeous! Christine’s mom, Esther organised the whole wedding and pulled it all together in the time frame of six weeks ….just goes to show, that it can be done and still be absolutely beautiful! This was truly a family affair ….every family member had a job to do …and it was absolutely special! But I think most importantly ….this was truly a romantic wedding ….you could feel the love ….anyone that was at this wedding, left believing in fairytales …it was purely magical I truly felt that I had read a gorgeous romance novel!
I would like to say a big thank you to both the Brand & Fourie Family for making Stella and myself feel so welcome! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! And finally a big thank you to Stella Sassen for being my second shooter!
