The Conservatory – Franschoek, Cape Town
Tracey & Glenn tied the knot at The Conservatory in the beautiful, autumn valley of Franschoek. This was a wedding that brought so much joy to my heart. Firstly, Tracey & Glenn are one of the sweetest, most caring, genuine couples you could wish to meet. Secondly, their wedding party was big and filled with lots of children and there was plenty of fun and laughter.
This wedding was different in a few ways, first, it was a morning wedding and secondly, there were about 30 children at the wedding. Without a doubt, it is obvious that Tracey and Glenn love children but I think it has more to do with Tracey’s caring heart. This is a lady who definitely puts other people before herself. She knew that her friends that were her bridesmaids were most importantly mothers and that it would be impossible for those mothers to find babysitters as quite a few of them had flown from across the world. In fact, one of her friends told me, that Tracey never got a single “No” response from her wedding invitations as that is how special she is as a friend. She is a thoughtful and caring person. The type of friend you celebrate having in your life.
Tracey & Glenn’s theme for their wedding was “A secret garden” with splashes of Delft. Lunch was like a family affair. Platters of food were shared amongst each other and had guests interacting with one another, almost like a warm family gathering. And while everyone was enjoying their lunch, the melodic and soothing voice of the talented Kai drifted into the perfect Autumn afternoon amidst the sound of laughter from excited and happy children.
Simon had a very small melt down in the beginning. I heard him tell his mom “Ek is honger!” Once he was sorted, he was Mr Charm, himself! In fact, he only eyes for Tracey! Glenn needs to be very worried!
It was a perfect day! To end the day, their guests created a tunnel to see them on their merry way. As the guests dispersed, the bridal party and the happy couple joined me for their shoot and it was perfect. Perfect light, perfect locations and no rushing back to waiting guests. This wedding was scripted to perfection.
