A Langebaan celebration! Celebrating 10 years as a wedding photographer! Kate and Mike were my very first Bride and Groom! So you can all blame them for getting me into this industry.
I remember when Kate asked me to do their wedding photographs. I must admit I was kind of nervous but excited at the same time. I remember telling her that I had never photographed a wedding before but she seemed confident that I could do it.
First wedding
Looking back, I now realise what a novice I actually was but how their wedding was an actual learning curve and how I seemed to cope with the elements that were thrown at me that day.
Needless to say, I never raised my eyebrows when they told me that their wedding would be held on the beach at midday because I did not know better. Well probably because I was nervous about everything!
What I still take away from that day, is the fact, that I had amazing clients. Kate and Mike were relaxed, in love and at the end of the day that was all that mattered!
This is the third time that I have had the opportunity of having them in front of my lens. I am happy to say, that nothing has changed.
Mike and Kate are still very much in love as the day they married. It was still easy to photograph them because there were still beautiful moments between them.
We made a pact that day, that we would continue to photograph them every five years, even if it meant, we all had to use walking sticks!
Now I would like to take this opportunity to wish Kate & Mike a Happy Anniversary and to also thank them for allowing me to fall in love with wedding photography.
I am forever grateful that you in your own way, pushed me into the career path that fulfils me in every way imaginable. Also that you are still super proud of the fact that you were my first Bride!
So this Langebaan celebration is about celebrating 10 years together!
