Joanna & James travelled all the way from the UK to come and have a summer wedding in the heart of the winelands, Cape Town! There was a hint of rain in the morning in Franschoek but nothing to really cause any major panic! This was definitely a gorgeous Cape Town wedding of note! I had met Jo & James on their previous visit to Cape Town and I knew instantly that this was going to be a beautiful wedding but laid back, surrounded by loved ones and friends in the gorgeous valley of Franschoek and without a doubt with lots of great wine flowing! Why have a wedding in the winelands if you arent going to enjoy the delightful local wines! I was vey happy to hear that Jo had chosen the very lovely, Marli to do her make-up and hair …Marli, has definitely become a friend to me …always honoured to have her work alongside me! But not only had Jo spoilt me there …but when I saw her dress …wow, I was like a little girl in a candy shop …she had chosen a beautiful Jenny Packham Creation ….and boy was it exquisite! And then what can I say about their choice of venue, Rickety Bridge ….wow, it was gorgeous …and the manor house had such great quality of light filtering through …I was definitely a happy camper! So as far as I was concerned …Jo had great taste …and that was totally confirmed when we got to see her handsome groom! What can I say about James …well not only is he suave, dashing and handsome ….but he has a great sense of humour ….in fact the British humour was in full swing at their wedding …I am not sure how I kept the camera steady as at times I was laughing so much! Even my awesome assistant, Saskia was enjoying the humour …the groom and groomsmen had us in stitches …and Jo’s dad …was just as sharp! A special mention must be made to Jo’s mom …who looked absolutely gorgeous as MOB …but she had organised a lot of the wedding from this side! (Jo’s mom and dad live just up the road from me!!) Well done, Jan …you did your daughter & son-in-law very proud! It was great to see everyone let their hair down and boogey the night as I left ….I dont doubt that they partied until the wee hours of the following morning! Part Two can be viewed here! And finally a huge thank you to JO ….you were a total joy as a bride ..not only were you seriously beautiful …but you just have a gorgeous way about you …your sense of humour and warmth and generosity is something to behold …I can totally understand how the great womans man, James ..fell so hard! (remembering the speech about his engament announcement!) You are a very lucky man, James!
